Create a WhatsApp welcome flow to automatically message new subscribers after they opt in. A welcome flow helps you make an immediate impression and guide subscribers toward their first purchase.

As a best practice, keep your WhatsApp welcome flow separate from your email welcome series.

What is a flow?
A flow is an automated series of actions or messages that send after someone performs a specific action. For a WhatsApp welcome flow, this means that after someone consents to receive WhatsApp marketing, they automatically receive messages welcoming them to your program.
Why use a WhatsApp welcome series?

WhatsApp lets you reach new subscribers in a direct and conversational way.

Because WhatsApp is an immediate channel, you can connect with subscribers when their interest in your brand is highest.

Use this opportunity to introduce your brand, share expectations, and encourage subscribers to take their first action.

Before you begin

Before you begin

Before you send any messages from a WhatsApp welcome flow, make sure you have:

Why do I need to set up WhatsApp?
You must enable WhatsApp in Klaviyo before adding WhatsApp messages to your flows. Otherwise, you’ll be prompted to complete setup while building the flow.
Why should I create a coupon?

When someone signs up for WhatsApp marketing, they give you a direct communication channel.

Rewarding new subscribers with a coupon is a common best practice. If you have not created one yet, select your ecommerce platform below:
