Learn how to create a Customer Hub content block directly from a flow. When you add a Hub block to a flow, the block appears in Customer Hub for profiles who reach that step, so you can extend your flow’s journey onto your website.

Customer Hub must be enabled for your account before you can add Hub blocks to flows.

About Hub blocks in flows

A Hub block is a flow action that places a content block in the Customer Hub of each profile that reaches it. The block appears in the For you tab of Customer Hub, alongside your other content blocks.

Use Hub blocks to extend the messages in your flows onto your website. For example:

  • Welcome series: Show a welcome offer in Customer Hub as new subscribers move through your welcome flow, so shoppers who return to your site see it again.
  • Browse abandonment: Remind shoppers about what they were looking at with a block that links back to your site.
  • Loyalty program enrollment: Introduce your rewards program in Customer Hub once a shopper joins.

Before you begin

Add a Hub block to your flow

  1. In Klaviyo, go to Flows and open the flow you want to add a Hub block to. You can use a new or an existing flow.
  2. Add the Hub block action to your flow. You can either:
    • Drag Hub block from the Actions list onto your flow.
    • Click the + in your flow where you want the step to go, then select Hub block.
  3. Place the step where you want profiles to qualify for the block. Profiles who reach this step in your flow will see the block in Customer Hub.
  4. Select the Hub block step to open its details panel. If Klaviyo suggested content from an email in your flow, the fields are filled in for you.
  5. Review the block’s details:
    • Internal name: Enter a name you’ll recognize, such as “Welcome offer.” Customers don’t see this name. Klaviyo uses it to report Customer Hub clicked on content block events, and you can’t change it after the block is saved.
    • Header: Edit the heading shoppers see at the top of the block.
    • Paragraph: Edit the text that appears below the header.
  6. Set your flow to live when you’re ready. Your block starts showing to shoppers once the flow is live and they reach the Hub block step.

Event data isn’t supported in Customer Hub content blocks. If suggested content includes event-based personalization, such as product details from the flow’s trigger, edit that text in the step’s details panel before your flow goes live.

Who sees a Hub block and for how long

  • Only profiles who reach the Hub block step in your flow see the block. Klaviyo tracks these profiles automatically, so you don’t need to create a list or segment.
  • Shoppers must be signed in to their account or identified by Klaviyo, such as by clicking a link in a Klaviyo message, to see the block. Anonymous visitors can’t see it.
  • By default, a profile sees the block for 30 days after reaching the step.
  • You can see the block in the Customer Hub editor, but its targeting settings are view-only there because the flow controls who sees it.

Edit or remove a Hub block

Blocks created from a flow appear in the Customer Hub editor alongside your other content blocks, but you can only view them there. You can’t edit or remove a flow block from the Hub editor.

To edit a block, open the flow it was created in, select its Hub block step, and update the details. To remove a block, delete the Hub block step from the flow and confirm when prompted.

Troubleshooting

A shopper can’t see the Hub block

If a shopper who should see the block doesn’t, check that:

  • Your flow is live and the profile has reached the Hub block step.
  • The shopper is signed in or has been identified by Klaviyo.
  • It’s been less than 30 days since the profile reached the step.
