How to add or delete users and manage permissions

Only Owners and Admins can add or remove users from an account.

Learn how to add new users to a Klaviyo account and set their roles.

This article is specific to adding or removing users who are not the Owner in a regular Klaviyo account. If this is not what you're looking for, you might want our articles on transferring account ownership or adding or removing users in a portfolio

Add users

  1. Click your account name in the bottom left corner. 
  2. Navigate to Settings > Users.
  3. Click Add New User.
  4. Type in the email address of the new user.
  5. Under Language, click the dropdown to select a preferred language for the new user's account. Note that at this time only English US and Français are supported. The email invitation sent to this user will be in the language you choose here. Learn more about organization and personal language settings for your account.
  6. Under Role, select 1 of the following: 
    • Admin
    • Manager
    • Analyst
    • Support
    • Campaign Coordinator
    • Content Creator
  7. Click Add User.
    The Add new user modal where you can input the email address, a preferred language, and a role for a new user you're adding to a Klaviyo account.

Once you add your new user, they will receive an email from our Support team with a link to set up their account. They will experience Klaviyo in the language you set, but they can change their personal language preferences if needed.

  1. Navigate to your inbox and search for an email from our Support team with the subject New account invitation.

    Before accepting the invitation to join the account, be sure to log out of any other Klaviyo accounts to ensure that the button in the email functions properly.

  2. If you accept the access you will be added as a user to the account. If you decline, you will not be added to the account.

Resend a new user invitation

  1. Click your organization name in the bottom left corner. 
  2. Navigate to Settings > Users.
  3. Click the 3 dots next to the user that you want to resend the invitation to.

  4. Select Resend Invites.
  5. Check the box next to the email addresses which you'd like to resend the account invitation to.

  6. Click Send. You'll see a green banner informing you that your invite has resent.

Remove or delete users 

Remove or delete users 

You cannot delete the Owner of an account. To remove an Owner, you must first transfer account ownership to someone else.

  1. Navigate to Settings > Users
  2. Click the 3 vertical dots next to the user you want to remove. 
  3. Select Delete user.

On the settings page for your account, you can also:

  • Change the role of existing users by clicking on their email address and updating their settings.
  • See which users have set up their accounts and which still have their email invitation pending.
  • Resend invitation emails to users who have not completed setting up their accounts.
  • Click on a user to view their details, which include:
    • Name
    • Email
    • When they were added
    • When they last logged in
    • Their current role
