You will learn

Learn how to identify push notification subscribers who are highly engaged with your marketing. Once you identify these subscribers in a segment, send campaigns to this group to ensure you only contact people who want to hear from you.

Before you begin

Before creating a segment of engaged push subscribers:

These steps ensure you have engagement data in your account. Without engagement data, your segment of engaged push subscribers will be empty.

Create an engaged push subscriber segment

  1. Navigate to Audience > Lists & segments in Klaviyo.
  2. Click Create New.
  3. Choose Create segment.
  4. Create a segment with the following definition:
    • If someone can or cannot receive marketing > can receive > mobile push marketing
      AND
    • What someone has done > Opened push is at least X in the last 30 days

Create advanced engaged push subscriber segments with custom metrics

Klaviyo provides the following built-in push metrics:

  • Received push
  • Opened push
  • Bounced push

Your developer team can build additional push metrics. Some examples of metrics you can custom-build are:

  • Active on app
  • Logged in to app

If you have built custom engagement metrics like these, consider using them in your engaged segment. Add additional custom metrics to your segment using an OR connector, like:

  • If someone can or cannot receive marketing > can receive > mobile push marketing
    AND
  • What someone has done > Opened push is at least X in the last 30 days
    OR
  • What someone has done > Active on app > at least X in the last 30 days
