Within Klaviyo, your account Owner has the ability to cancel your subscription payments and end service for Klaviyo’s email and SMS channels. In this article, you will find step-by-step instructions on how to cancel your subscription or discontinue one channel in Klaviyo. Canceling your subscription will not close or completely delete your Klaviyo account's content.
Please note that you cannot cancel using this method if you are on a manually billed plan or have a contract with Klaviyo that is greater than one month. To check if you are manually billed, head to your Account Overview in Klaviyo. To cancel your subscription when being manually billed, please contact our Support team.
Account Help and Troubleshooting Resources
Before you make any changes to your subscriptions, we recommend checking out the following resources, which can help you get the most out of using Klaviyo. As our users tell us, sometimes a few key settings or a single strategy can be a total game-changer. These six resources can help you transform your growth with the tools that are already at your fingertips.

As you proceed to canceling your Klaviyo subscriptions, we recommend that you also reference our article on Migrating Off of Klaviyo. This resource will explain how to properly turn off Klaviyo features that you no longer need as well as transfer key data to your next service provider (if applicable).
Canceling Your Account
To cancel your Klaviyo account, first click into the account dropdown in the upper right-hand corner of your screen and select Account.
From your Account page, navigate to Billing > Billing Preferences.
Under Plan Overview, select Manage my Subscription(s).
You will then be directed to a series of steps to cancel your account. As shown below in step one, if you wish to continue, choose Cancel my Email subscription and click Continue.
In step two, Klaviyo will ask you to select a reason for canceling; select all that apply. You can also supply optional feedback in the box labeled What else could we do to improve. Once you have chosen your reason or reasons, click Continue.
You will then be directed to a collection of educational resources. If you wish to return to your account instead of canceling to try out these strategies or tactical instructions, click into a resource or Back to Overview. If you wish to proceed with canceling, select Continue.
Choosing When Your Cancellation Takes Effect
In the last step of the cancellation sequence, you will choose when your cancellation will take effect.
Under When should we cancel your Klaviyo subscription?, select one of the following options:
At the end of my billing cycle
The following account related items will take place if you cancel at the end of your billing cycle:
- Campaigns and Flows
Any campaigns and flows will continue sending up until the date listed as the last day of this billing cycle. At the end of your billing cycle you will no longer be able to send messages in Klaviyo.
All integrations and future payments will be disabled at the end of your billing cycle.
We recommend this option in order to get the most out of this month's subscription.
Your account will be closed immediately. No refunds will be issued for any remainder of the billing period.
- Campaigns and Flows
You will not be able to send any email and/or SMS messages in Klaviyo.
All integrations and payments will be immediately disabled.
Regardless of the option you choose, your account will remain subject to the Klaviyo Terms of Service.
After carefully reading these options and selecting when your cancellation will go into effect, click the box next to I understand how canceling will impact my subscription. Once you are ready to cancel your account, click Cancel My Klaviyo Subscription.
Confirming Your Cancellation
You will then receive a message confirming that your subscription has been cancelled. Depending on when your plan is scheduled to end, we will offer you up to three updates and next steps to proceed with.
How to Reactivate as a Free Account
After canceling your subscriptions, you still have the choice to reactivate as a free account. In doing so, you can regain access to many core Klaviyo features but will be restricted to a free plan’s sending limits rather than your original paid subscription.
Note that upon reactivating as a free account, you will still have access to your data from your former paid account.
To reactivate as a free account, navigate back to Account > Billing > Email Plans or SMS Plans depending on which you wish to reactivate. At the bottom of this page below the list of plans, you will see a link labeled Want to use the Klaviyo Free Plan?
After clicking this link, you will be directed to your Account Overview page where you can update your plan to reflect your desired subscription level or reactivate as a free account.
