Verify your WhatsApp Business account
You must be an Owner or Admin to verify WhatsApp.

You must verify your WhatsApp Business account within 30 days. Klaviyo is not responsible for the verification of your WhatsApp Business account.
If you haven’t already, we recommend connecting your WhatsApp account to Klaviyo before continuing.
Why do I need to verify my account?
If you don’t verify:
- Meta has the right to deactivate your account
- You’re limited in how many messages and users you send to.
How long does it take to verify my account?
It can take up to 30 days for Meta to verify your account. Note that Klaviyo cannot influence this process, and you must reach out to Meta for assistance with verification.
Before you begin
You must be an admin in WhatsApp Business to verify your account.
For the verification process, you’ll need to provide certain business documentation that:
- Includes the legal name of your business.
- Additionally, if your business isn’t already listed in Meta, this documentation must include the business address or phone number.
- Is in one of Meta’s supported languages.

Verify your WhatsApp Business account
- Log in to your WhatsApp Business Manager.
- Navigate to Business Settings > Security Center.
- Under Business Verification, click Start verification.
- In the resulting modal, select Get started.
- Choose the country for your company, then click Next.
- If your company operates in multiple countries, please choose the one where your business is headquartered.
- If your company operates in multiple countries, please choose the one where your business is headquartered.
- Choose the type of business:
- Corporation.
- Sole proprietorship.
- Partnership.
- Private company.
- Institution.
- Add the following details about your business:
- Business tax ID or registration number.
- Legal name.
- Address.
- Phone number.
- Website.
- Select Next.
- Choose a contact method to ensure that you actually are the person requesting the verification:
- Email.
- Phone call.
- Text (SMS) message.
- Domain verification.
- Click Next.
- Import any supporting documents (e.g., certificate of incorporation, utility bills, business bank account statement, etc.) to corroborate your:
- Business name.
- If needed, business address or phone number.
- Enter the email address or phone number to confirm the contact method you chose for step 6.
- Wait for the email, phone call, or text message, then enter the confirmation code.
- If the code is incorrect, click back and try again. If the problem persists, check that you have service or try another confirmation method.
- Click Next.
Meta may take up to 30 days to verify your account. Note that Klaviyo is not responsible for the WhatsApp Business verification process.
Once your account has been reviewed, you’ll receive an email confirming that your account was either verified or rejected. In the meantime, you can view your verification by logging in to WhatsApp and heading to the Security Center tab.

Meta allows any WhatsApp Business account to apply for verification up to 3 times.
If rejected:
- Log in to your WhatsApp Business account.
- Navigate to the Security Center tab.
- Under Verification for [Your Company Name], click the Learn More button.
- Review the reason for the rejection.
In most cases, it’s due to an issue with your uploaded documents. Check that the documents are:
- An accepted type and in the right language (see the dropdowns in the Before you begin section above).
- Complete; that is:
- The document contains the information you’re trying to verify (e.g., they show the business name or address).
- The information in the document matches what you submitted.
- Your website shows your company logo.
- Readable.
- Not expired.
Additionally, make sure you submit all the documents that Meta requires. Sometimes, Meta will ask you to submit additional documents within a certain time frame.
