Learn how to port an SMS sending number into Klaviyo.
Before you begin
Porting can take around 4 weeks. When migrating to Klaviyo, please build in time for this process.
Note that porting a number will result in the loss of any voice capabilities.

Port a toll-free number
- Navigate to Settings.
- Click SMS.
- Click into the Request Additional Numbers dropdown.
- Select Port an Existing Number.
- Click Submit Port Request.
Port a short code
- Navigate to Settings.
- Click SMS.
- Click Activate for the country your short code is for (e.g., if you have a US short code, click Activate where "United States" is the supported region(.
- Select Short Code from the list of numbers.
- Click Complete Order to access the application.
Outcome
After you submit your port request, you can expect to be contacted by a Klaviyo representative. After someone reaches out and you submit all required information, the porting process begins:
- For toll-free numbers, porting can take 2 to 4 weeks to complete.
- For short codes, porting can take 6 to 10 weeks to complete.
