FAQ: Why does this user have several opened email events in their profile for the same email?
If it's been confirmed that the user received the email in their inbox only once and Klaviyo support is only seeing one send on the backend, then this is expected. A customer doesn't necessarily have to close and re-open an email for Klaviyo to track it as an open. The way that Klaviyo tracks open events is by placing a pixel image at the bottom of every email. When an email is opened by the recipient, we record this pixel as viewed and mark the email as opened. Whenever the image pixel is loaded, it will record an open event; so, it may just be the recipient reloading the page, and/or the recipient clicking through emails in their inbox numerous times. Another cause that could lead to the multiple opens around the same time is if the recipient forwards the email to someone else. All these factors could lead to multiple opens within the same time range.
