Learn how to change the Owner of the portfolio to another user.

Before making any changes to your users, know that:

  • There can only be 1 Owner on the portfolio. 
  • The portfolio Owner does not need to be an Owner of any linked account. 
  • The portfolio Owner has full access to all data from the linked accounts. 
  • Every Owner and Admin of a linked account will receive an email when the portfolio Owner changes.

Transfer ownership of a portfolio 

As the portfolio Owner, you can change the portfolio to any portfolio user. Note that since there can only be 1 Portfolio Owner, you will no longer be the Portfolio Owner if you transfer ownership. 

How to add a new user to a portfolio
  1. Make sure you’re logged in to your portfolio account. 
  2. Navigate to Manage > Users

  3. In the Portfolio tab, click Add new user.

  4. In the modal that appears, enter the email address for the user you want to add. 
  5. Open the dropdown and select the user’s role.
  6. Click Save.

The person with that email address will receive an email inviting them to the portfolio. The recipient must accept the invite and then log in to become a user. 

To transfer ownership of the portfolio: 

  1. Navigate to Manage > Users
  2. Click the name of the user who you want to transfer ownership to.  
  3. Open the User Role dropdown. 
  4. Select Portfolio Owner

  5. Click Update

Once you do so, the selected user will become the Owner, and your user role will change to Admin.
