Only Owners, Admins, and Managers can adjust this setting for the account.
You will learn
Learn how to adjust the account-level settings for when campaigns determine recipients. There are 2 options for when a campaign determines recipients:
- Scheduled time (the default)
- Send time
Using Send time means that if your list or segments significantly grew since the time you created the campaign, you may use more credits (or sends) than estimated, be auto-upgraded, or need to upgrade your plan for the campaign to send to everyone.
How is scheduled time different from send time?
These 2 timing options affect who your campaigns send to.
Think of determining recipients as snapping a picture at a point in time.
If you choose Scheduled time, Klaviyo takes a picture of your lists or segments the moment you click Schedule. So if anyone has been added since that moment, they will not receive the campaign. On the bright side, you’ll know the maximum number of people the campaign will be sent to (and how many credits you’ll be using).
If you choose Send time, Klaviyo takes the picture right before the campaign sends out. This way, the campaign’s recipients will be up to date and matching your list or segment. However, this may lead to using more sends or credits than expected.
If you choose Send time for SMS, please note that the send may use more credits than initially estimated. This is particularly true if you have a multi-national account, as subscribers in different countries may be added to the campaign, and SMS credits vary by country.
Change when campaigns determine recipients
This setting is the default for all messaging channels: email, SMS, and push notifications. However, you can always change when recipients are determined when you go to schedule a campaign.
- Select your account name in the bottom left corner.
- Click Settings > Messaging.
- Select the default option you want to use:
- Scheduled time.
-
Send time.
- Click Save.
