To request a long code, you must:
- Be an Owner or Admin.
- Have a paid plan.

Long codes are available for the following countries:
- United Kingdom
- Ireland
- Australia
- Belgium (currently in limited availability)

Some countries have requirements when applying for a long code. Click on the subsection below that applies to your country to view the requirements.
If your country is not present, move on to the next section.
IrelandIreland
Ireland requires that every business requesting a long code provides certain information. You’ll need to show proof of your business’s:
- Name
- Business registration
For the documentation, you can submit proof of business registration from an authorized government authority. Examples include:
- IE Company Registration Office proof of business registration
- UK Companies House certificate of incorporation
AustraliaAustralia
Australia requires that every business requesting a long code provides certain information. You’ll need to show proof of your business’s:
- Name
- ID number (i.e., Australian business number)
A commercial registry (or equivalent documentation) can be used as proof of all of the above.

Best practices
Before requesting a long code, let your SMS recipients know that you’ll be changing your number. For details, check out this article on how to alert your subscribers about a change in number.

Once your request has been approved, your long code will be automatically assigned to your account. For most countries, your long code will be the default sending number for all messages for the corresponding country.
Request a long code in Klaviyo
If you send to multiple countries, each country must have a separate long code, so you must repeat this process per country.
- Navigate to Settings > SMS.
- Go to the Sending Numbers section.
- In the line with the flag for your country, click the 3 vertical dots on the right-hand side.
- Click either Activate or Change number.
- In the modal, choose Long Code.
- This is the only option for Belgium.
- This is the only option for Belgium.
- Click Next.
- If required for your country:
- Add information about your business. Information entered here must align with your business registration documents.
- Upload your supporting documents as proof of business registration.
- Select Submit Request.
- Click Exit.
Outcome
If your long code request requires documentation, it will be available in 1 to 3 business days. Otherwise, it will be available immediately. Once available, you can start adding it to your sign-up forms, website, or email banners.
