Use your social content in campaigns, flows, and sign-up forms

With Klaviyo Social Marketing, your brand's own Instagram content is available directly inside the media picker, so you can reuse your best-performing social content in emails, flows, and sign-up forms without downloading and re-uploading anything. Inserted content can include a social context overlay (Instagram badge, username, and caption) that shows your subscribers the post's social proof.
This article covers where social content appears, how to insert it, how the overlay works, and how access differs by plan.
Where social content appears
A Social tab appears in the media picker anywhere you add images in Klaviyo, including the campaign editor, flow email editor, and sign-up form builder.
The Social tab shows your brand's own published Instagram content (feed posts and carousels). Content that others have tagged you in is not insertable today; reusing user-generated content requires the creator's permission and is not yet supported.
Browse and select content
- In the campaign, flow, or form editor, open the media picker where you'd normally choose an image.
- Select the Social tab.
- Browse your Instagram content. Each post shows a preview with the social overlay rendered.
- Select a post and insert it like any other image.
If your Instagram account isn't connected yet, the Social tab prompts you to connect via Facebook Login without leaving the editor.

The social context overlay
The overlay is what makes inserted social content feel native rather than like a generic photo. It renders directly on the image and can include:
- An Instagram badge
- Username
- A preview of the caption
The overlay is toggleable per insertion: turn it on for social proof, or off to use the clean image.

Video content
Instagram videos are converted to GIF format when inserted, since video playback isn't supported in email. Longer videos may be shortened or reduced in quality during conversion.
Plan behavior
- Free Auto-replies plan. You can open the Social tab and browse all of your own Instagram content with the overlay rendered in the preview. When you try to insert a post, you'll be prompted to start a free 14-day trial of Social Marketing. No payment details are required, and your account is not automatically charged when the trial ends.
- Trial and paid Social Marketing plan. Full access: insert into campaigns, flows, and forms, with performance-ranked sorting so your best content surfaces first.
- After a trial ends. You return to preview-only access. Content you inserted during the trial remains in your messages and forms.
Things to know
- Requires Facebook Login. Social content does not flow in on Instagram Login connections.
- Feed posts and carousel posts are supported. Stories and Reels are not available in the media picker today.
- Social content does not appear in the Asset Library today; it is available through the media picker only.
