Learn how to start collecting SMS consent at checkout with your PrestaShop store. This process should take around 5–10 minutes to complete.

Why collect SMS consent at checkout? 

One of the best ways to grow your SMS subscriber list is to collect consent when someone checks out on your site. Klaviyo’s integration with PrestaShop allows you to sync consent when someone enters their phone number, accepts SMS marketing, and then starts a checkout or places an order, making it easy to grow your SMS list.

  1. In your PrestaShop admin, navigate to Configure > Klaviyo.
  2. Toggle on Sync PrestaShop SMS subscribers to Klaviyo.
    You must set up SMS in Klaviyo before you can sync SMS subscribers.
  3. Click Save to proceed.
  4. Select a list from your Klaviyo account to add SMS subscribers to. All new subscribers will be added to the list you choose. We recommend using a separate list for email and SMS subscribers.
  5. Choose When do customers subscribe? This can either be after they:
    1. Start checkout (and click Continue after the addresses section)
    2. Place an order
  6. Add a consent label for your marketing checkbox; use a clear label to inform users what they’re opting in to (e.g., “Subscribe to SMS updates”).
  7. Add consent disclosure text. You must include disclosure language for compliance. Make sure to include the terms of your SMS marketing program in your terms of service and privacy policy. Please note that you must use HTML in the disclosure box. Example disclosure text:
    By checking this box and entering your phone number above, you consent to receive marketing text messages (e.g. promos, cart reminders) from [Company Name] at the number provided. Msg & data rates may apply. Msg frequency varies. Unsubscribe at any time by replying STOP or clicking the unsubscribe link (where available). <a href="link">Privacy Policy</a> & <a href="link">Terms</a>.
  8. You can use the language toggle to the right of the disclosure box to add language-specific disclosure text for each language your store is displayed in. 
  9. When you’re done, click Save

You’ve now enabled SMS consent at checkout collection on PrestaShop!

Consent will now sync to Klaviyo after someone inputs their phone number, selects the checkbox to accept SMS marketing, and reaches the subscribe step you selected.

This will help you quickly grow your SMS list so that you can expand your reach on this channel.
