Learn how to save an email template to reuse in the future. Saving email templates is an easy way to cut down time building your campaigns or flow emails, as saved templates can be used as a starting point for future emails. From Content > Templates, you can build out a template directly or edit saved email templates.

Save an email as a template
When you save an email built in the classic template editor, the version that appears in your saved templates will use Klaviyo’s new template editor. Learn more about when templates automatically switch to the new editor.
For a flow email:
- Click on the email you would like to save
- Navigate to Email Content > Edit Content
- Select Save as Template
Once your email is saved as a template, it will appear in Content > Templates.
For a campaign email:
- Click on the email you would like to save
- Navigate to Content > Edit Content
- Open the Edit Email menu
- Click Save as Template
Once your email is saved as a template, it will appear in Content > Templates.
You can save a sent campaign email as a template by navigating to Campaigns, selecting the additional options menu next to the campaign title, and choosing Add to Templates.
Use a saved template
When configuring a new email, you will first see a window with the prompt: What type of email would you like to create?
Here, select Select Template > Choose Template from Library. Navigate to the Your Templates tab and find and select your saved template.
When you use a saved template that was originally built in Klaviyo’s classic template editor, the version that appears in your campaign or flow will use Klaviyo’s new template editor. Learn more about when templates automatically switch to the new editor.
Switch to a saved template
If you're working with either a draft campaign email or a flow email, you can change the template you're working with. To switch to a different template in a campaign:
- Navigate to the Content step
- Open the Edit Email dropdown
- Click Change Template
- Select Drag and Drop, then select and edit your template
To switch to a new template in a flow:
- Navigate to the Message Content step
- Click the Edit Content dropdown and select Change Template
- Select Drag and Drop, then select and edit your template
