Why do the open rates on Smart Send Time results page look so low when my open rates now are much higher than that?
The Open Rates per Hour, Opens and Conversions per Hour, and Expected Open Rate Lift graphs are based on your exploratory sends, these open rates are only inclusive of those campaigns. The open rates on the Open Rates by Hour graph use the exploratory sends as a baseline and project future focus sends onto these open rates. This allows us to be able to correct for the subject line or content differences between campaigns. What that means is if a focus send has a much higher open rate than any of your other sends, we only analyze the relative change between hours and have that difference reflected in the graph; we will not suddenly spike the hours for that focus send because a single campaign did better than average.
