Getting Started with Klaviyo - Creating a Content Calendar

This recording is part of our Getting Started webinar series. You can check out all the details and sign up for a live session by visiting the webinar series landing page.

This session covers how you can plan out a larger marketing effort by creating a content calendar. We dig into the following topics:

  • How to connect multiple campaigns together into a larger marketing effort
  • How to modify your send list and content to match a particular campaign
  • How to actually send a campaign in Klaviyo
  • How to A/B test with a campaign

Below are some questions customers typically ask about this topic.

Can you insert a dynamic countdown into your campaign email as shown on the pre-order email?
We’ve got a guide that covers this specific process. You can also check out our webinar on Designing to Your Mission if you want a deeper dive into the email template editor and some design best practices.

What exactly does the ‘Exclude List’ option do? Is there more detail on that?
When you’re setting up a campaign you can choose to send to a specific list, or set of lists. You can also choose to exclude a list from being sent to. One example would be if your business sells directly to customers, but also sells to warehouses in bulk. In this case, you could keep your wholesale customers on a specific list, and then exclude that list from your general marketing campaigns.

Is UTM only for Google Analytics?
Google Analytics is by far the most common tool used for tracking how customers interact with your site. That said, you can apply UTM parameters to your links in your emails directly from your Klaviyo account, and then use any analytics tool you’d like to analyze the results. Read our guide on UTM Tracking in Klaviyo.

Can you please repeat that part about how the A/B test can start sending to the winning option?
When you run an AB test in Klaviyo for a campaign, you select a portion of your send list to test with, and the remaining portion will be sent the winner of the test. This means you can test, and execute on your results, all within Klaviyo.

What are the benefits of using the coupon function in Klaviyo vs attaching a coupon code to the url? What if you want to use unique coupon codes as opposed to a single static code?
When you use Klaviyo’s coupon features you benefit from managing all of your coupon information in the same place that you’re managing your email communications. Our guide to Using Coupons in Klaviyo covers everything you need to know. As well, we got some guides that provide specific information on using coupons for your integration.
