Klaviyo looked at over 2 billion emails and found that highly segmented emails led to a 3x greater increase in revenue per email recipient and 50% fewer unsubscribes. The message is clear -- get the right message to the right person at the right time. Klaviyo has built-in segments, but you can find ideas of how to create a great segment here.
